Games & IT Exhibits
I produce a variety of online and offline games, virals and interactive applications. Using the latest web technologies such as Flash animation and video, games can be developed quickly and relatively cheaply whilst retaining all of the benefits of a traditional software build.
Online Games & Virals
Adding games to your website makes it sticky - people will come back to play again and again. They'll tell their friends and word will spread...
I produce games in a variety of styles to suit the host site and target audience. Past productions include a set of environmental kids games and the Science on the Subway mini-site for the Glasgow Science Centre.
Other notable game developments include a branded online Sudoku engine which was licenced by United Feature Syndicates and a re-make of the 19th century Tower of Hanoi puzzle.
Non-game virals can also be very popular. I produced a viral to promote the Glasgow leg of FameLab, a national contest to find the best new talent in science communication. The viral alone attracted enough participants that no other marketing was required.
Try it for yourself: Find the new face of Science.
Offline IT Exhibits
Using rapid development techniques originally developed for the web, I'm able to build quality offline applications quickly and relatively cheaply.
I was recently commissioned by Glasgow Science Centre to develop a series of IT exhibits under the title Science in the Dock. These exhibits use touch-screen interfaces and incorporate a mix of video, text, cartoon animation and audio effects. One of the exhibits allows visitors to vote on a large projected Voting Wall, including a photo of their face morphed onto a cartoon character body.
There are more details on this project in my blog. You can also see more photos here.
Virtually anything is possible - any combination of video, live camera, audio, illustration and other media can be combined with any combination of hardware from touch-screens to guitars to wireless wands to produce virtually any type of IT exhibit, with or without a screen.
If you can imagine it, we can probably build it. Contact me if you'd like to discuss an idea.
